L’antica torre di Niviano fu costruita con funzione di vedetta su un colle al centro della valle del torrente Lerna. Intorno ad essa si sviluppa il borgo, che secondo la tradizione era circondato da una cinta muraria, dentro cui si entrava solo attraverso due porte ben guardate.

The ancient Torre di Niviano was built as a lookout on a hill in the centre of the Lerna stream valley. Around it there is the hamlet, which according to tradition was surrounded by a wall, which could only be entered through two well guarded doors.
